One of the weddings that I was anticipating from the beginning of summer, was the wedding of Vicky and Nick. The reason was not only the fact that it was a destination wedding  (for me) at the beautiful small town of Nafplio, but even more the feeling of intimacy  and trust  I received from this couple. This combination was the best feeling I could get – and I’m always pursuing to have – entering a wedding. To feel that I’m considered not only as the photographer, but as a friend as well. At that point emotion emerges and I’m in the position to (photographically) tell the story of the day of the wedding the way I want to.

And what a day it was. The preparation of Nick with his unique mini tie and his crazy best man. The preparation of Vicky, with her Holevas wedding dress (favorite of mine) and the awesome Dukas wedding shoes,  with lots of friends and family, some stress, but full of joy. The ceremony at the beautiful Church of St. Nicholas at Nafplio, the mini location photo shoot afterwards, the reception with fireworks and a lot of dancing at Amalia Hotel and finally, another mini photoshoot at the stairs of the hotel.

When you receive so much, you have to give as much in return and even more. When I finally decided to leave the reception after 3 in the morning, it was only because I had to wake up at 8 to return to Athens.

Vicky and Nick are a fantastic couple and I’m very happy to realize that our relationship has grown to friendship.

 

Τον γάμο της Βίκυ και του Νίκου τον περίμενα με ιδιαίτερη ανυπομονησία φέτος. Δεν ήταν μόνο το γεγονός ότι ήταν ένας γάμος destination  για εμένα στο πανέμορφο Ναύπλιο, αλλά το ποιο βασικό ότι ένοιωθα μία φοβερή οικειότητα και εμπιστοσύνη από το ζευγάρι. Ο συνδιασμός αυτός είναι η καλύτερη αίσθηση που μπορώ να έχω – και επιδιώκω να έχω- σε έναν γάμο. Να αισθάνομαι  ότι με βλέπουν πλεόν όχι μονο ως φωτογράφο, αλλά και ως φίλο. Τότε τα συναισθήματα απελευθερώνονται και εγώ μπορώ να καταγράψω και να διηγηθώ την ιστορία της ημέρας του γάμου όπως θέλω.

Και τι φοβερή ημέρα ήταν αυτή. Η προετοιμασία του Νίκου με το μοναδικό  γραβατίνι του και τον “τρελό” κουμπάρο του. H προετοιμασία της Βίκυς, με το νυφικό Χολέβας (αγαπημένο) και τις απίθανες γόβες Dukas, πολύ κόσμο στο σπίτι, λίγο άγχος και πολύ χαρά. Το μυστήριο στον πανέμορφο Άγιο Νικόλαο Ναυπλίου, την μίνι φωτογράφηση στα στενά του Ναυπλίου, την δεξίωση με πυροτεχνήματα και πολύ χορό στο Hotel Amalia και τέλος άλλη μια μίνι φωτογράφηση στα σκαλιά του ξενοδοχείου.

Όταν παίρνεις τόσα πολλά, δεν μπορείς παρά να δώσεις και εσύ άλλα τόσα και περισσότερα.  Έφυγα από την δεξίωση με το ζόρι μετά τις 3 την νύχτα, μόνο και μόνο επειδή έπρεπε να ξυπνήσω στις 8 το πρώι γιανα φύγω για Αθήνα.

Η Βίκυ και ο Νίκος, είναι ένα φανταστικό ζευγάρι, και είμαι ιδιαίτερα χαρούμενος που τους θεωρώ πλεόν και φίλους μου.
